I'm so happy you are here. On the blog, you'll find inspiration for your event or learn about new calligraphy tools and supplies. There is always something new to uncover when you are putting pen to paper.
In my very first “In My Toolbox” Series, I am talking about a calligraphy tool that will allow you to say goodbye to messy ink spills. Let me introduce to you the acrylic ink holder!
If you are anything like me, you probably have way to much on your desk when you are working on a project. While I am writing, my mind is going 100 miles an hour and my hands are trying to catch up. There is nothing worse than reaching for a new envelope or place card and you tip over that bottle of walnut ink, just recently mixed. It spills all over your white desk and worse, on your white and grey rug!
Made by Hello Luna, this acrylic ink holder is not only so pretty to look at, it is the perfect tool to keep that ink bottle in place.
On a few occasions, while working on a project, I found myself accidentally knocking the ink holder and guess what? It did it’s job! That ink bottle never fell or spilled! Whew!
My acrylic holder is filled with dried flower petals. It’s one of my favorite pieces sitting on my desk all the time! Sometimes, I’ll get caught staring at it and just day dream about being on the beach with chips, queso and a margarita!
The acrylic ink holder can be made with dried flowers and petals, gold, silver or copper flakes and ink colors. One of the best things about this is that you can give your ideas to Hello Luna, and she can help bring them to life. The holder has one spot that fits smaller ink holders; so if you have a bigger, rounder ink bottle (ex: Dr. Ph. Martins bleedproof white ink), you would have to transfer your ink into a smaller airtight container. The size is perfect to dip your straight or oblique holder into. Lately, I’ve been mixing my own ink and so I automatically mix them up in a smaller ink container. It also has five smaller spaces for a pen or pencil. I’ve found that it doesn’t quite hold them well, but that isn’t a make or break type thing, for me.

CONS:
After having this tool for a few months now, I can wholeheartedly say that I use it almost every time I work on a project. Reach out to Hello Luna and order one for yourself. Stop the spillage!
