I'm so happy you are here. On the blog, you'll find inspiration for your event or learn about new calligraphy tools and supplies. There is always something new to uncover when you are putting pen to paper.
Do the bright colors of summer make you fall head over heals? If you said yes, then we should definitely be friends! I rarely shy away from color and love the challenge to create pieces using calligraphy and color that scream elegance.
When Josey from Give Photography initially reached out to me about collaborating for her shoot, she mentioned the idea of using grapefruit as place cards. For me, that immediately sealed the deal. I am such a huge fan of using non paper items as place cards. It helps bring an element of personality to your event or wedding. Just looking at the table setting that was created will let you and your guests know they are in for a special night.
One of my favorite parts of any event is the dessert. This cake designed by Brumlow Baking Co. is almost too pretty to eat. The colors blended so well and the touch of gold adds so much elegance to it. I mean just look at the fruit and how each one is placed so strategically to create this masterpiece.
When creating the stationery for this shoot, I used handmade paper (how could I not) and made sure to use bright ink colors. A great way to incorporate those fun colors if you are scared to go full throttle on the invite is to use the brighter colors for your envelopes. You can also opt for a wax seal in a fun color to seal the envelopes. On these, I used a bright yellow wax which pops against the peach envelopes. And what better way to write down those vows but on hand made orange paper. After your wedding, this would make for an awesome keepsake – have them framed and you can then have it passed down from generation to generation.
